Things happen — that’s a fact. But with the right insurance coverage, you can go about your business knowing that you’ve proactively planned for the unexpected.
General Liability (GL) insurance, sometimes called small business insurance or commercial liability insurance, provides insurance coverage for your business against claims made by others including bodily injury, damage to property, or personal injury.
If someone comes to your place of business and is injured, a general liability policy could cover their medical costs. If someone else’s property is damaged and you are found to be responsible, the repair or replacement cost could be covered.
It depends on the state. Some states require, as a part of your licensing, for you to carry general liability insurance with specific limits. While your state might not require you to carry general liability, you customer or vendor contracts might require you to. Even in the absence of such requirements, it is highly recommended that all businesses carry general liability coverage.
Costs are determined based on various factors such as annual revenues, training programs, contracts, type of work and others. They are also expected to perform the services for which they were hired, according to the standards of conduct in their profession. If they fail to use the degree of skill expected of them, they can be held responsible in a court of law for any harm they cause to another person or business. When liability is limited to acts of negligence, professional liability insurance may be called “errors and omissions” liability.

The reality is general liability excludes claims arising from professional services. These two policies work together to mitigate your expenses when accidents or oversights land you in a legal situation.
When you apply for insurance with Security America, Professional Liability coverage is included in our quotes.
